We, at Jurate Mork, fashion history, which escapes the erosive power of time. We draw a direct parallel between knitwear – which, due to its attractiveness to moths and the fragility of yarns, rarely endures through centuries – and everything else we place a supreme value on. Everything passes, yet we are left with an unforgettable story. We possess, we lose, yet we can never forget.
Here, we believe that the woman who drapes herself in our knitwear becomes a treasure of humanity: her love is a contested object, she is not pleased with the banalities of life, she steps out of her comfort zone. Inevitably, she
glows as a jewel. She has a golden mindset that celebrates life and loves books (perhaps Haruki Murakami or Fyodor Dostoyevsky…), writing letters or the simple act “being”. Like an existentialist, she paints a reality using everything around her and her wardrobe is her box of brushes.
She lives the day, exclaiming “Carpe Diem!” (Latin: seize the day). She lets herself be vulnerable and playful, effortlessly carrying life’s burdens. Our knitwear and our woman is a reflection of the imperishability of eternity.
